Why is talk important for pupils’ learning? | Talk Education Partnership

Mostly what I understand of the importance
of talking at school, like for us for the children it helps us to bring out our views,
the challenges we face at school, and as we talk we talk to our teachers and they also
they feel pain when we tell them and they also help us in the problems that we can bring
and they also help us correct the bad errors and we also help them tell them that this
place is wrong this place is okay and now the school grows up and continues peacefully
and makes the school a better place for learning Another one is, it has helped us the teachers
to change the mode of discipline. We used to cane these children, but now we don’t cane
them, because if one has a problem they go through a mediation team, we have a team called
mediation, you present your issue to the class counselor and then you fill a form, they give
you a specific time for meeting, then you go with the person that offended you and you
iron your cases amicably solved and it has reduced helped the teachers to reduce
the workload. Instead of listening for cases, you are suppose to teach, who are suppose
to scheme, lesson plan, children now help us to handle such cases.
And also, for us on the side of the children, it has made us confident to talk to the teachers,
the parents, and even other community members, and now we have a free school, we talk to
each other, no child fears.
