Scheme for Registration – Visit 1: An introduction

Well visit one normally takes place
about four to six weeks after the trainees enrolled on the Scheme. The
assessor will ring the practice or email the trainee to arrange the visit at
mutually convenient time. For the most part it’s the assessor and the trainee
who are involved, but the supervisor also comes in for the feedback, and there is
some information giving as well as agreeing dates for future visits that
happen so the supervisor needs to be involved in that too. So overall visit
one is your opportunity to meet your assessor to become familiar with the
type of assessment techniques that we use – a short introduction to assessment
really – and a presentation to help you prepare for next time. So no worries!
