Retina Disease – Your Health in 60 – Frankfort Regional Medical Center

– I’m Dr. Irfan Ansari, I’m an ophthalmologist at the Frankfurt Regional Medical Center. Retinal diseases affect
the layer of the eye which is called the Retina. Retinal diseases, as opposed to many other diseases of the
eye, are much more serious and if we don’t treat these diseases, many of these patients will
end up with severe vision loss and sometimes even irreversible
vision loss and blindness. They typical patient who’s
going to need retinal surgery is generally between 60 and over. Usually they have a host
of comorbid conditions such as diabetes but
it can occur to anybody unfortunately, anyone can
develop retinal diseases. Therefore, it’s vital to have
periodic eye examinations to look for several conditions in the eye including retinal condition. One of the reasons I like working at Frankfurt Regional Medical Center is that we can provide
first class care right here.
