Glaucoma Specialist, Ophthalmologist: Jiaxi Ding, MD

I’m Doctor Jiaxi Ding
with Duke Eye Center. My expertise is in glaucoma, and
I’m fellowship trained in this area. My services range from glaucoma screening,
to medical treatment, and lasers and surgeries as needed. I offer treatment for
a variety of eye care needs, including cataract surgery with advanced
technology, including toric and multifocal intraocular lenses,
femtosecond laser, and the Ora system. Many of these surgeries are done at
the time of cataract surgery and so your operation may serve dual purposes. From our consultation onward, I pledge
to be committed to your best interest, your personalized individual care. For each eye,
there may be a different plan. Often many patients, when they have
back-to-back surgeries in both eyes, they’ll remark, but this one was different
from my first eye, did something go wrong? And we have to explain, you know,
your each eye is a separate story. The nerve patterns are different,
the blood vessels are different. One eye may bleed a little more. One eye may be a little
more uncomfortable. That doesn’t necessarily mean anything
was wrong with the operation. But we have to treat them individually. When I’m not at work, I enjoy outdoor
activities, like hiking, biking, and swimming. But I also enjoy a quiet night in. We may watch a good movie or marathon
through an entire season of a TV show. But since becoming a new mother,
I’ve found a whole new world of joy. As well as a whole new level of busy.
