Assessing Pupils

Assessing Pupils

This is the pupillary response. It can give you a lot of information it can tell you about the patient’s neurological status as well
as any potential drugs that are on. First assess the diameter of the pupil. Here it’s
about 6mm. Use the light, flashing it into the pupils and looking for it to constrict.
Also note that when I flash into one eye both eyes will constrict. And that’s assessment
of pupillary reaction.
